Alexander Wang "Did you notice anything?" asked Alexander Wang at a preview earlier this week. He paused a beat. "There's no black!" That's right, New York's prince of downtown darkness is turning toward the light. "I was looking for something optimistic," he said, "something pure."The show began with all white looks, pants, tops, dresses and heels and a slah of white paint and roses in the model's hair, then followed by the finale pieces in colours of ivory, mint, and terra-cotta.
Juan Carlos Obando worked with a bold metallic palette of blotchy violet, turquoise, silver, and black. The cutouts gave the dresses a more edgyer and raw-er look to them, while these were hand made the finished effect was more high-tech than handicraft.
Z Spoke by Zac Posen This collection has a young, fun feel to it, with lots of mix and match prints. Posen had three muses for the season: a sportswear-clad brunette, a blonde who adores ruffles and probably cats, and a glamour-puss redhead. The show started off with smart suits and denim skirts paired with printed blouses. The show ended with a black gown with cutouts. Oh ! Loved it ALL!
