#161 The Queens Exhibition

Alexander McQueen : Savage Beauty

The 'Savage Beauty' exhibition by Mr McQueen started yesterday and has been received with a great reception by the Fashion & Art world. From his collection as a postgraduate ( Titled 'Jack the Ripper Stalks his VictimsCentral St Martins 1992) to his final runway presentation which took place after his death last year in February. Approximately 100 pieces will be on display including some of his signature garments such as, the kimono jacket, Origami frock coat, as well as pieces reflecting the 1860s, 1880s, 1890s, and 1950s. Looking at all the images & footage LITERALLY gave me goosebumps, I just HAD to write about it. Only people that understand his craft, not only as a 'designer' but as an artist will find this as phenomenal as myself & Rox did. For Londoners that could not travel to New York (like myself) to see the exhibition (which will be held at the Met Museum until July 31st ) Harvey Nichols had their own small exhibition which was equally amazing! There is no denying McQueen was (and always will be) truly a genius!
